Circular HEPA Filter

The Challenge of Circular Cutting on Fiberglass

Circular cutting of fiberglass presents a specific challenge: the risk of edge fraying. A frayed edge can compromise the filter seal against the gasket, making the filter unusable.

SPM addresses this with a controlled-pressure cutting tool combined with an integrated extraction system. The extraction system captures fibers released during cutting before they can contaminate the product or the working environment.

From 30 to 600 mm in Diameter: A Very Wide Range

The processed diameters range from 30 to 600 mm. This range covers both small discs for medical devices and large-diameter cylindrical filters for high-flow industrial vacuum systems.

The machine configuration follows the same logic as the minipleat process: roll unwinding, pleating, cross-cutting, edge gluing (93XIB), casting on Line 101 or 400, or TMAT/CMAT curing stages.

Two Main Markets: Industrial Vacuum Systems and Medical Devices

SPM customers in this segment fall into two main groups. The first is industrial vacuum systems, where circular HEPA filters provide protection against hazardous dust such as asbestos and crystalline silica. The second is the medical sector: HEPA discs for CPAP machines and other respiratory devices.

In medical devices, dimensional consistency is the primary selection criterion. Production volume is secondary.

Application Sectors

AEROSPACE

Circular HEPA filters are essential for maintaining air quality in aircraft cabins, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for passengers and crew.

CHEMICAL

In chemical industries, these filters protect operators from toxic substances, helping to ensure a safe working environment that complies with regulations.

FILTRATION AND SEPARATION

Used in advanced filtration processes, circular HEPA filters improve the efficiency of contaminant particle separation.

MEDICAL

Essential for hospitals and clinics, these filters protect patients and healthcare staff from pathogens and harmful particles.
