Cell Panel Filter

Hot-Melt or Aluminum: Two Techniques, Two Upstream Processes

In cell filters, the separator can be made of hot-melt adhesive or aluminum. This is not just a matter of cost: it changes the manufacturing process.

With hot-melt separators, the SPM line applies the adhesive using upper and lower belts. The process is fast and suitable for most applications. With aluminum separators, the metal foil is pleated together with the filter media on the 91XSPL pleating machine. This is the solution for high-temperature applications, where hot-melt adhesives cannot withstand the operating conditions.

Thermal Control That Ensures Separator Uniformity

With hot-melt adhesive, the critical factor is ensuring a uniform adhesive deposit across the entire width of the panel. Even a small temperature variation changes the viscosity and affects the quality of the separator.

SPM application belts integrate a liquid-cooled temperature control system. The maintained tolerance is ±1 °C. The adhesive deposit remains consistent even during long production shifts and frequent batch changes.

Available Sizes and Main Applications

The available sizes range from 100×100 mm to 600×600 mm. Pleat height is adjustable from 0 to 300 mm. Pleat pitch ranges from 5 to 30 mm.

This range covers both small panels for residential use and large formats for industrial air handling units. Typical applications include offices, hospitals, data centers, and pharmaceutical facilities.
