Cylindrical Activated Carbon Filters

What SPM Does in This Segment — and What It Does Not Do

For this product, it is important to be precise from the outset. SPM manufactures machines for two variants of cylindrical activated carbon filters.

For the version with granular activated carbon contained between two layers of non-woven fabric, SPM mainly supplies machines for end-cap sealing: Line 100, 304, 400, and TMAT/CMAT curing stages. For the variant with pleated media directly loaded with activated carbon, the line extends further upstream: 92XTS pre-cutting, 91XPL/91XSPL blade pleating, and 94XTT-HM or 93XAVI cross-cutting with edge gluing.

The Two Supported Variants: Carbon-Loaded Pleated Media and Granular Carbon Between Non-Woven Layers

What SPM does not manufacture are machines for carbon block filters. Carbon block is a different variant: granular carbon is mixed with a plasticizing agent and formed by extrusion or compression. It is a completely different process that requires different technologies. It is not part of the SPM product range.

If the product of interest is carbon block, SPM is not the right supplier. It is better to clarify this before starting any commercial discussions.

Dimensional Range and Applications

The covered dimensional range is from 30 to 150 mm in diameter. Standard lengths range from 10 to 60 inches.

Customers in this segment mainly operate in drinking water purification. Upon request, SPM can configure contact parts using certified food-grade materials when the final product must comply with food safety regulations.
